December 2015: "Giving Tree"
There is a Christmas tree set up in the main lobby of our school with ornaments on it. Each ornament has a different age of a child and a gift that would be suitable for this individual. Anyone can take an ornament and donate a gift! Gifts shouldn't be wrapped, and should be in the original packaging from the store. All gifts should be taken to room 2420 and will be donated to the Lehigh Valley Children's Hospital at the end of December. |
November 2015: "Beauty and the Beast"
We hosted a competition called "Beauty and the Beast" in which a group of seniors raised money for cancer. Our "beauties" collected money for the National Pancreas Foundation in support of Mrs. Deurer, and our "beasts" collected money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in support of Mr. Davis. The girl and boy who raised the most funds were crowned the "beauty" and the "beast" at the Thanksgiving pep rally! We are donating $126 to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and $460 to the National Pancreas Foundation. |
2014-2015
April 2015:
The Volunteer Club helped set up for the Northampton Middle School Angel 34 social. We also went to the nursing home again and gave handmade Happy Spring cards with painted flowers! The senior citizens were looking forward to go outside and enjoy the fresh air once again.

February 2015:
The club helped run the "Streak Challenge" Fundraiser at Northampton High School. This event was planned to support a beloved teacher at the school, Mr. Kim Davis. In the fall of 2014, Mr. Davis was diagnosed with Lymphoma cancer. At the event, green hair extensions, cupcakes, and bracelets were sold to demonstrate support for both Kim Davis and Lymphoma patients. Proceeds from the fundraiser were donated to patients at the Lehigh Valley Hospital who suffer from Lymphoma cancer as well.

December 2014:
We held a toy donation drive called the "Giving Tree." Toys were collected during December, taken to CHOP (Children's Hospital of Philadelphia) and were distributed to the kids for Christmas. We donated toys ranging from books to ear buds, and had a variety of gifts for children of all ages. We are so happy to have been able to help make some children's holiday season special. Merry Christmas! We also went caroling at Gracedale Nursing Home. The residents were overjoyed to hear us singing their favorite carols! We love to visit and we are so happy that they enjoy our company.

November 2014:
We took our first trip to Gracedale Nursing Home on November 24th! We visited the residents and became familiar with the facility and staff. Everyone at Gracedale was so welcoming and overjoyed to work with us. Many female residents loved to talk about the girls' long hair. We're planning to visit again in the near future to do a special activity with the friends we made! |
October 2014:
Our first event was a food donation drive. For the duration of October, we collected nonperishable items for the Northampton Food Bank. Over the course of 4 weeks, we were able to collect 1,600 items! It was a huge success and we are so thankful to all those who donated. Collection boxes were held in homerooms. 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners received Dunkin' Donuts! |
